Part 3 - January 24, 2021

The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-15)

Life doesn’t always go the way we expect it to. We ask God for help and guidance, but sometimes it seems like even though we pray with faith, He doesn’t respond. Is He just saying no? Or not yet? We seek Him, but don’t experience His presence. What are we missing?

Prayer can even feel like a waste of time - if we don’t understand its purpose.

Join us as we talk about:

  • What is the true purpose of prayer?
  • Are we praying the “right” way?
  • What is the foundation of a powerful, purposeful prayer life?

Prayers aren’t just empty words tossed up to the sky. They’re life changing conversations - in fact, they’re the most important conversations we can have!

Join us at Generations Church for an up-close and personal look
at the purposeful prayer Jesus modeled for us.

Women's Ministry New Series:

Take Courage

Learn How to Walk Confidently, Stay Motivated, and Courageously Invest Your Life

Do you ever feel like the happy ending of your story is a million miles away?

Then you know how the Jewish people felt when they returned to their wrecked land after exile and began rebuilding the temple. They were distracted, discouraged, and ready to throw in the towel. But the prophet Haggai reminded them they could find courage in the God who had never left them.

Sometimes the landscapes of our lives feel wrecked, with our hope and purpose in shambles. We too get distracted and discouraged. However, God’s presence and promises give us courage to press on and trust Him with our story.

The book is available on Amazon for $15.99

Prayer ministry's Tip of the Week

Prayer and Bible Reading can go together.  The Bible reminds us of God's truths and convicts us of wrongs.  It makes our prayers effective.  (The prayer of a righteous man has great power as it is working." James 5:16b. ESV)  The Bible leads to many ideas of how to pray and what to pray about for individuals and situations.  God's word is alive and powerful!

Do you have the Generation Church App?

The Generations Church app is officially available for download from the Apple and Google app stores, search Generations Church of Pleasant Hill.

We will use the app to communicate more broadly and will be the main communication platform for the people who call Generations Church home.

Real People telling real stories about a real god

We are real people infused with dynamic faith, who have made a COMMITMENT to a common vision, joined together by the promised love of our Creator. We believe in inter-generational, multicultural ministry, whose sole intention is to reach families in our COMMUNITY for Christ. We firmly believe that you should come as you are to the feet of Jesus, for He is capable of transforming a broken, messed up, or empty heart into a fulfilled life that brings Him joy. Our gatherings are very casual but we make it a priority to focus our attention on God's Word and to give Him all the glory in everything we do and say.

Youth Homes students

We want to thank those who contributed to Harvest Offering and/or the recent gifts for Youth Homes students.  The students wanted to say "Thanks for your Generosity" with a banner they made themselves via tie-dye. They chose Christmas colors and a cross symbol and designed something special for our church community.  We look forward to continuing our partnership and building relationships with these local youth.

We are a community of people who are in process. We have imperfect messy lives, but we are pursuing and experiencing a transforming relationship with Jesus and with each other. Everyone is welcome here; whatever your story, season of life you're in, questions you may have, and even  your doubts or struggles. We’re all about experiencing life together in COMMUNITY, being intentional about loving God and serving others.

We want to invite you to our Sunday Celebration to experience COMMUNITY, grow in COMMITMENT, and learn to live a life of COMPASSION! Because that's what Jesus said, and that's what Jesus did!
